

General Glossary of Characters, Places and Things
Alexander: Twin brother to George.
Ara Metua: This is the ancient inland road on Rarotonga. The coastal road is known as the Ara Tapu.
Architeuthis Monsterous: The giant squid monster named Putua that has deadly sun gemmed tentacles.
Avaiki: Ancient homeland of the Maori race. Avaiki can also be thought of as heaven.
Avant Stream: The longest stream on the island that flows from the top of Te Kou Mountain through the Ngatangiia Valley.
Avatiu road: A road that heads inland from the main harbor on the island. It leads to the beginning of the trek up the mountains to The Needle (Te Rua-Mangā).
Brendon: Uncle to Tiare, Mana and Lalu. Brother of Quentin and Selena.
Burpy the treehourse: Treehorse rescued by the children from the Tree World of Maunga in Book1.
Chronicle children: Immortal children born to record historical events that occur in the Circle of World.
Circle of Worlds. Six worlds perpendicular to earth’s galaxy made up of the following worlds, from apex going clockwise:

Moon world of Marama
Tree world of Maunga
World of Maki
World of Te Kore
Animal world of Vaevaeā
Cook Islands: Fifteen islands spread over 850,000 square miles in the South Pacific Ocean. They are divided into the Northern and Southern groups. The Southern group is the most populated and consists of nine islands mainly of volcanic origin. The Northern group is made up of six true atolls.

Southern Group: Aitutaki, Atiu, Mangaia, Manuae, Mauke, Mitiaro, Palmerston, Rarotonga and Takutea.

Northern Group: Manihiki, Nassau, Penrhyn, Pukapuka, Rakahanga, Suwarrow.
Cora: Older sister to the twin boys George and Alexander.
Coralene: An underwater material stronger than a diamond. It is used by the mermoons to make spears and armor.
Cycle: Measure of time in the Circle of Worlds, equivalent to ten Earth years.
Dandelion necklace: Tiare’s necklace that is made from dandelions and pegacorn tears. It has the power to transport her home from the Circle of Worlds. The small flower charm on it was made from the blade of Makea.
Dali: Glass winged transporter butterfly. He belongs to Princess Inano.
Dawn Breaker: Uncle Brendon’s fishing boat.
Ema: The immortal shark rider Queen. She was the Queen of rainbows, volcanoes and polar ice.
Enoka: Mana’s golden dragon.
George: Twin brother to Alexander.
Golden Compass: Mana’s compass made from the blade of Makea.
Golden messenger of life: Wooden bird from Avaiki that can transport a life force from one who is dying to another who is being born.
Graphene tree: A tree with branches as strong as diamond. Similar in chemical structure to coralene that is harvested by the mermoons.
Hawaiian Koe: The largest native tree in the Hawaiian islands.
Homalium tree: The Cook Islands Homalium (Mato) is the most common tree in the native forests of inland Rarotonga.
Junior: A sunfish that helps the tri-prophets get to the Rainbow Mountains of the giants.
Kākāia: Rarotongan white tern.
Kākerōri: Rarotongan Flycatcher.
Karavia: Long-tailed Cuckoo/ also refers to the color grey since the cuckoo is grey-colored.
Katas: A sequence or pattern of movements that allow practice of techniques used in fighting or self-defense.
Katikatiā: Centipede monster. Sister of the Queen spider Tukutukura’onui, and the sun gemmed squid Putua.
Kekete: Ancient immortal from the Sun World of Rā. Biological father of Tai.
Kia Orāna: A greeting in the islands meaning “May you live”. It can be used at any time when greeting someone to say good morning or hi.
Kiais: Battle cries used to startle opponents when fighting.
Kimi: The yellow puffer fish.
King Nganaoa: King of the Mermoons.
King Tereora: King of the Shark Riders.
Koromatua: Warrior leader of the freed World of Maki. Uncle to Tai and brother of Nui.
Kūkupa: Cook Islands Fruit-dove.
Lalu (Leilani-Rose): The youngest of the tri-prophets. Has the ability to heal, make others believe in themselves and see choices they did not think existed. Also has a protective aura and can sense a person’s true intentions and feelings.
Limalama: A fighting technique that originates in the Polynesian islands and includes bonelocking and breaking methods.
Malina: Fiance of Quentin.
Mammatocumulus: A type of cloud that appears to have pouches hanging underneath it. Typically seen during or after a storm.
Mana: The dragon keeper, with powers of speed and the ability to construct and deconstruct any object. He also has superior vision when concentrating on an object.
Marae: A sacred placed on the Polynesian islands marked with stone or coral slabs. These sites served religious and social purposes.
Matt and Selena: The tri-prophets father and mother.
Mendhikā: Sanskrit word that is also known as Mehndi or Henna. Henna is applied in paste form on the skin as a temporary form of skin decoration.
Mermoon: Immortal creature in the Oceans of Inspiration.
Metua: The all -seeing tree lady. She has two good sisters, Mina and Kianga and together they form the three good guardians of the Circle of Worlds.
Moā Kirikiri: Pacific Fruit-bat.
Moko: Name used for lizards/ geckos of different types including the Blue-tailed Skink and the Dandy Tree-Skink.
Mr. McCormick: Biologist on the island of Rarotonga.
Mr. Spockie: Mana’s pet, a Duvaucel's gecko (Hoplodactylus duvaucelli). He is extremely strong and can turn into a rock.
Nana and Nanu: Two ancient fish that lived within the pool that became the origin of the Avant stream.
Nui: Warrior leader of the freed World of Te Kore, brother to Koromatua and Uncle to Tai.
Nunu: A killer whale spirit guide from a place called the “Dreaming”. This is explored more in book 3 so be sure to check it out when it is available.
Ocean of Inspiration: Found on the Moon world of Marama and home to shark riders and mermoons.
Okota’i: Koromatua’s wife.
Ora-Rose: Daughter of Koromatua and Okota’i.
Pa: Mountain guide on the island of Rarotonga.
Papaā: Island word used for a tourist with fair skin.
Pāpua waterfall: Well-known waterfall on the island of Rarotonga.
Prince Raka and Princess Vira: Twin children of the shark riders King Tereora and Queen Ema.
Prince Rongo: Prince of the Mermoons.
Princess Inano: Future wife of Tai, originally from the Moon world of Marama.
Quentin: The tri-prophets Uncle. Brother of Selena and Brendon.
Rākau Pikika‘a: Sensitive weed.
Rākoa: White-tailed Tropicbird.
Rangatira and Tongaiti: Owners of a pool on top of Te Kou Mountain. Legend has it that this pool of water was the origin of the Avant Stream.
Rangatira warrior stag: Golden warrior stag from the animal world of Vaevaeā.
Returning to the stars: This means that the immortal would enter a different
phase of life where they would contribute to the living world in a unique way. They
would have the chance to act as a guardian to living beings; immortal or mortal.
Ring of Metua: Magical ring that becomes important later on in the Circle of Worlds Adventures.
River of Shadows: River that runs between the two golden castles of the King of the Sun world of Rā.
Selena: Mother of Tiare, Lalu and Mana. Her brothers are Brendon and Quentin.
Shadow Hour: When the twin suns on the Sun World of Rā eclipse in the sky.
Shark rider: Immortal creature that lives in the Oceans of Inspiration.
Soursop (kātara’apa): The scientific name is Annona muricata and it is a member of the family of custard apple trees called Annonaceae.
Tai: King of the Sun world of Rā.
Tamangori: Giant in legends from Mangaia.
Tangaroa: Giant child that lives on the Rainbow Mountains of the Giants.
Taote: Doctors/ sunhealers on the world of Rā
Tara: Eldest of the three evil witches. Her two evil sisters are Upu and Tino and together they form the three evil forces of the Circle of Worlds.
Tatio Tuaine: Ancient immortal who is the ancestor to the tri-prophets. Brother of Tai’s birth father Kekete.
Tavake: Red-tailed Tropicbirds.
Te Kou Mountain: A mountain in the center of the island of Rarotonga.
Te Rua Mangā: The island name for the “Needle” which is a characteristic rock formation on the island of Rarotonga.
Te Manga: The highest mountain on Rarotonga with an altitude of 652 meters or 2139ft.
Teatea. An Apteryx (giant kiwi bird) in the land of the Rainbow Mountains of the giants.
Tereapi’i: Descendant of Metua and keeper of the Ring of Metua.
Tiare: The oldest of the tri-prophets.
Tiare Teina: Gardenia flower.
Tiare Tipani: Plumeria or Frangipani flower.
Tika: Yes.
Tivaevae: Polynesian quilt.
Toto: Blood eater bug.
Tri-prophets: The three children Tiare, Mana and Lalu.
Tuki: A vegetarian liopleurodon that lives in the waters of Vaevaeā.
Tukutukura’onui: Queen spider with a sun gem on its back.
Tupa: Messenger hermit crab from the Blue shell clan.
Uka: Hermit crab from the Yellow shell clan.
Unga and Karai: The grandfather and father of one of the missing children taken by Katikatiā.
Va‘i hour: When the two suns of the world of Rā at are furthest apart. Sunset occurs soon after.
Vaka Eiva competition: Amateur outrigger canoe race held yearly on the island of Rarotonga.
Warreen: An American businessman who has a big role in the third book.
Waterspout: A waterspout is a columnar funnel that occurs over a body of water.
Weema: Warrior koala from the animal world of Vaevaeā.
